Kindness and caring can change peoples lives and the world. For example, in Selavi the children were kind to each other and they made Haiti a better place for kids who have no home. This connects to Martin Luther King's speech "I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia, the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood." The act of being kind to other people by sharing food is connected to the world changing because segregation has ended.
This connection has shown me that small acts of kindness are connected to larger social changes.

I was just re-reading our BLOG from the past three months. I see a pattern of kindness and caring between friends here at Crescent Town. It is so nice to read how clearly you all understand how to take care of each other on the playground and in class. I also was so impressed with your friendships and how those teach you about the power of kindness. Finally, I think that our conversations on the BLOG about Martin Luther King Jr show us that if we live what we believe, we can make a positive change. Like Abdullah and Christopher said: if we all lived by kindness and caring, maybe there would be more peace in the world. Thank you Grade 3's for sharing your thoughts.
